Francine (# 752) would make a great pet for a household with cats because she could care less about them. She doesn’t bother cats in her foster home at all. She is a loving pug and while she gets along with other dogs there have been some misunderstandings in the home. Francine is deaf and she is blind in the left eye so she doesn’t like dogs to get close to her face. She also doesn’t hear the warnings from dogs for her to leave them alone. She loves toys & treats and doesn’t like to share so she will growl if another dog invades her space, but humans can take toys and treats away from her with no problems. If another dog has a toy and she wants it then she will bark constantly to let them know she wants what they have.

Francine’s foster home has two teens in it and the family says this pug would make a great pet for families with children of any age. She does have an old injury to her right leg that makes it hard for her to get up on furniture and go up and down stairs, but she gets along just fine. She is protective of her humans and so if she is on your lap then she doesn’t want other dogs to get near you. She hates the cold weather, but loves to go for car rides.

Francine is a pug that was rescued from a kill shelter and there is no telling what this petite pug (14 lbs) has been through in her short life. She is estimated to be somewhere between 6 & 10 years old. No one is sure of her age because she has certainly not lived a life of luxury, but with your help this can change so that her next 6-10 years can be her best!
